wma files not work ... pls help

I have just downloaded the winamp 5.08 full version, however, there are some wma files that I cannot open , but I have tried to send those songs to my friend and it worked with his winamp, why ?? How can I make it works with my winamp ?

Can you play them in Windows Media Player?
Might want to try some updated codecs.

Or better yet, avoid WMA all together, it is poo. Stick with MP3.

I can open them from windows media player, actually, I burn/copy those song from a oringinal CD by Windoes media player. Hoerever, within the same CD, there are not all the songs that can be opened by Winamp. Therefore, I tried to send those songs to my friend and it works on their winamp. so anyone can help me to fix this problems ?
