Netwoking: Trouble accessing Library as USER but not as ADMIN
Greetings.
I'm running winamp on a networked pc running windows2000. My media is stored on a server elsewhere on the network. Wnen I'm logged onto the PC as an administrator, I have no problems refering to & accessing the media library on my "server" but... If I log onto the pc as a "userQ without write privaledges to my music library & launch Winamp it comes up with "error initialising database" and subsequently crashes! The server is set such that the files in my librarty can be read with no probles & "user" can access & play them in Media player (Yeuch) with no problems. Does Winamp NEED write access to the media library? Does it HATE being run as a "user"? Help please as I'd HATE to have to use WM Playes on a PC just 'cos I wanna lock it down a little! Cheers, Danny |

Loverley!
My install was clean but resetting the program files for write access to "all" did the trick. Fantastic support if I may say so and no waiting on the phone on hold listening to muzak for 6 hours either! |
