100 Second delay when starting WinAmp?
When I double-click on a .mp3 file in a folder on my hard drive, there is a 100 second (plus or minus a second) delay before the Winamp window appears and starts playing the file.
I have tried this many times, with many files, and even tried diabling my firewall, but the delay remains. Same thing happens if I just double-click the Winamp shortcut. Once Winamp is running, if I double-click on a .mp3, playing starts immediately. 100 seconds sounds like a timeout while it's waiting for something, but what? I've configed it with "not connected to the Internet" and "don't check for new versions at startup". I've also noticed about a 3 second delay when closing Winamp before I am able to click on anything else, even the task bar. I'm running v5.08 on Win2K. Any help is appreciated. Binary-G |

Nevermind. I just did a re-install and everything's back to normal... so the problem was solved without knowing what it was.
