Will,

You are my hero. I will test this new version out extensively and see if the missing files/duplicate files bug shows its ugly head again

Thanks for continuing to work on this, I for one really appreciate it. I had to actually switch to *gasp* itunes for a while.. hopefully I can get rid of that once and for all now

Is there a fix for the last played date bug? Occasionally I have noticed that the date gets blanked out on 10 to 12 songs when syncing. I have not noticed a particular pattern to this tho.

Ugh!

Hi Will,

Unfourtauntely the missing/empty playlist bugs present in the beta are still in the final 1.12.

I just disconnected my ipod after creating a couple of smart playlists and syncing the ratings and I see the dreaded missing playlist bug (shows a placeholder for a playlists with no text and no songs).

Also some of my other non-smart playlists have dissapeared.

*sigh* I was really hoping this would work

Any chance this can be fixed? I don't want to have to go back to itunes

BTW: I have "smart playlist live updating (very experimental) " checked.. I'll try it without that checked and see if it works any better

thank you for the plugin! it solved my win98 problem with iPs!

really rad. thank you. I was so sad to find that Windows 98 isn't supported by Apple software. Now I am listening to my birthday present instead of returning it. You rule.

I got a Shuffle at the weekend and I've had a nightmare with iTunes stealing file associations, failing to recognise half of the MP3s I have (I have far too many without ID3s), deleting everything on the iPod half the time and generally doing stuff I don't want and not doing stuff I want.

So, seeing the Shuffle support is released, I installed and... wow. Winamp's ML let me sort out the files (inline db queries letting me select specific directories for mass-tagging, etc), the Shuffle came up properly and didn't ever delete anything without asking, and copying files seems to be a lot quicker using the XP copy routines. And I can do something as obvious as dropping a file onto the iPod from Explorer which iTunes can't do. iTunes is gone and I am happy.

Maybe this is a bit fawning but it's not often I actually find some software that's so damn good. I develop software myself so I know it's good to sometimes hear this instead of all the wingeing and feature requests (although bug reports are good too).

Agreed! I've only had the shuffle for a week and I love it! Without ml_ipod, I would only like it. iTunes sucks. It doesn't allow me to delete files on the ipod, or even see what's on the ipod, so there's no way in iTunes to delete a cd on the ipod and replace with a new one (you have to re-load every time with iTunes). iTunes will only work on my home machine. Also, no way to add mp3's from work, iTunes will only allow one machine. ml_ipod solves all of this. With ml_ipod I can see everything on the shuffle, I can delete mp3's on the shuffle and replace with new mp3's. I can add mp3's from work that are not on my home computer, its awsome! ml_ipod is one great piece of software!

The only problem I had was initially getting it to work since iTunes does not default to using the shuffle as a USB drive, therefore in Windoze, ml_ipod will not recognise the shuffle. You have to first go into iTunes and then under shuffle options 'Enable Disk Usage' (to allocate space on the shuffle for data, but select allocate all to music (unless you really do want space for data)). After this is done, ml_ipod will recognise the shuffle.

I found this 'tip' in this forum after a half hour of trying to get ml_ipod to see the shuffle. Will, PLEASE add this tip to the documentation for us Windoze users.

WinAmp core dumps on sync

Will -

first of all, nice work. Minor kinks left, but this is one heck of a plugin.

This is reproducible on my G4/20 iPod:

Hit sync, or add all music to my iPod:

it screams along until about halfway through, then fails. WinAmp crashes.

I am attaching the dmp file and the xml doc the watson agent would have sent to M$ - this is with you latest 1.12 version.

Cheers -
sven

Smart PL

Yeah, this is kind of a great SF... Unfortunately, I too got the bug of the empty PL and cannot query on rating. I had to go back to Itunes cause that's the SPL i used the most

Keep up the good work, hope to see a new release soon.

Congrats.

Ratings problem on the right click menu of a file

Hi all,

What a brilliant plug in. I use it every day and love it.

If I right click files in the media library which are on my iPod I see no rating but if I look in the media library these files have a rating. Is this a bug?

Thanks,
Rob

This is great! I've always wanted to buy an iPod, but because iTunes wouldn't work on my windows 98 system, I couldn't buy one . I'm very happy with this plugin!

Hi,

thx 4 the great plugin!

Is there any chance you could implement some settings to enable disk-use and to judge how much space is reserved for audio and data? It would be wonderful not having to have iTunes installed to do these things.

Greetz,

Kersten

Hi

It would be nice if I can tell to this tool to encode my .FLAC files to mp3 before transferring them. Or is this somehow possible??

Thanks

I've got the latest download to date and I'm having one problem with it. If I tick the live smart playlists then on the ipod mini (6GB, got it yesterday!) the playlists are blank. Everything else is fine and working if that box isn't ticked (Great job by the way, I can't stand iTunes). I understand it's still only experimental but If that was working it would do everything I'm after! I've had a look round and a few other people are having the same problem.
