NSISDL/Updater Question

I'm working on an autoupdater using NSIS for my opensource project. I'm switching from Inno Setup since NSIS has these cool new features that I'm looking for.

I've searced the manual, searched the forums, looked in FAQ's but I can't find this.

I tried once to download a DLL file via http method, when it got to my harddrive it was plenty messed up. Is this a normal situation and I need to zip each DLL file, or was it a fluke from shotty code when I did it (not using NSIS, was using .NET )

Thanks for any info you can give

Download it using NSISdl.
