media library and read only files

after i formatted my computer. i was putting back the music that i backed up. but with some of the folders media library didnt add them. i tried everything but doesnt work only when i copy the files to a new folder it would then add to the media library. can anyone tell me is there a shortcut for this coz i dun wanna copy thousands of mp3 z to a new folder

Ctrl+A/Select folder -> Right click -> Uncheck Read Only -> Check Apply to Subfolders and Files -> Press Ok.
Will that work?
