Playing Windows Media Files? Tried Direct Output FAQ's.
Hi there,
im wanting to have the direct output plugin within winamp, so i went to the FAQ's, but i coudnt see where to actually download the plugin - i searched for "direct output" in plugin's, but its bringing back all sorts - all i want is the standard plugin i need to play the wma format (like i have at home - im at work) - all i have in my output the now is wave_output. Any help is greatly appreciated, and sorry for posting such a topic, which has no doubt been done amillion times! ![]() Many thanks, Neil P.S. - I'm using Winamp 5 with XP Pro. |

Winamp is saying you need to use DirectSoundto play WMA files, but don't see DirectSound listed at Winamp > Preferences > Plug-ins > Output?
If so, try reinstalling Winamp and make sure DirectSound is selected in the install options. As shown in siebe83's screenshot. Note: Microsoft changed their WMA license, thus the change in how WMA files a are played. You may have already see some of the following, for more info... Sticky: Help! My protected Windows Media files don't play in Winamp anymore!!! http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=208529 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=208878 http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=207987 |
