Winamp socket output

Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to send the commands Winamp recieves (like pressing the play button, adding things to the playlist) trough a socket to another pc acting as a jukebox.
The idea behind this is using Winamp as some sort of remote control for a linux-driven multimedia pc.
I don't want to stream audio trough the network, I just want to send the commands and let the server play the specified file.

I only have very little experience programming in C++, but do know quite a bit of Perl.

Thanks in advande,
Vincent
