Updating drivers: worth?
Recently I give Internet Connection to one of my Pentium II, With Windows 2000......
When I run utils. of the motherboard to detect drivers and updates I found a lot... ![]() The thing is... that, before the Internet connection, I can play CDs, MP3, etc... Is it worth the updating of the drivers even though all work well? * PC: Intel Core 2 DUO E6550 @ 2.33 GHz with 2 GB RAM: Archlinux-i686 with MATE. * Laptop: Intel Core 2 DUO T6600 @ 2.20 GHz with 4 GB RAM: Archlinux-x86-64 with MATE. |

Short answer: yes
[edit]Even though your setup might be working fine, there's a good chance that some of the drivers you are using are the generic drivers that come packaged with the operating system, and do not support all the advanced features of your hardware. It's also worth noting that every driver update will improve that device's compatibility with new software and other hardware. Like my photography? Buy some here.... |
