Hey y'all, I've got a feature dilemma and to illustrate it,

Can someone suggest a solution? If not then I guess this is a feature request. You see: Jack and Jill are both good friends of mine so all help is greatly appreciated


(To the mods: I'm sorry if there is some sort of regulation on images and this image is too big; I just don't think I could convey the message in a better way. (sorry)

I think that it's not totally beyond the scope of ShoutCast/Winamp:
* Winamp and ShoutCast are both made by Nullsoft.
* Isn't it logical to have winamp be able to control the output of ShoutCast? (no, no it isn't - you're right, but it would be handy for all those people who want a nice easy way to control their ShoutCast stream from the same program they're listening to it with)
* Winamp seems so cold and empty without it...
* I think I lost the remote for my ShoutCast server.

well it's either here or the plugin development forum. No one in shoutcast is going to be able to help you with this type of feature.

Sorry, I'll try to explain.
I want to be able to use winamp as a "remote control" for what the ShoutCast server streams to it's clients.
All clients connecting with the right password (or no password, I don't care) can choose what the ShoutCast server streams.

So if i'm in one room, I can choose a song on winamp and it will play in all rooms which are running winamp (and are connected to that server)

If it doesn't make sense now, well, I just don't know how to convey it (I've got a problem with this sort of thing, conveying messages, I think maybe I use too many comma's, maybe, and maybe brackets too, I sometimes have to end three sets of brackets at once...)

I guess I may be the only one who would really benefit from this...don't any of you have siblings with computers playing music which is not the same/not in-sync with yours? Doesn't anyone have more than one computer in more than one room which they like to listen to music on but want to be able to move between rooms without having to stop the music on one computer and start the music on another? (now, that may not make sense)

Anyhow, regardless - I think it's a feature worth having. Maybe someday another streaming media server will implement something similar or someone will write a plugin for ShoutCast which allows for this.
