I don't feel too guilty about leaving my computer on too long. I'm economical with everything else.

The only difference between hibernating and a complete shutdown, is that your current running programs and work is saved in virtual memory. Other than that you're still bursting your hardware with electricity when you get out of hibernation.

It takes quite much. Well not as much as your vacuum cleaner maybe but still. It's just a waste to leave it on unless you have a good excuse.
I'm not such an environment freak, but it's a small effort to shut your computer down when it's not needed, right?

Actually, it's quite a pain in the ass to turn my lappy off and on every friggin day; the bitch takes an excess of three minutes just to get past the XP logo loading screen.

Not necessarily. My lappy claims to use 150 watts of power, but the fucker overloads 350 watt car power inverters (and the adapter supposedly can take up to 750 watts before overloading ).

Whoa! That thing needs to be cleaned up. My notebook boots from no-power to login screen in 25 seconds. And it's pretty loaded.
