I am trying to incorporate animated cursors in my skin designs but they never seem to come out. I don't think Winamp can read .ani files (file extension for animated cursors). Winamp can only read .cur files (file extension for static cursors). How do you over come this problem?
If you have to rename the file extension, then how do you do this? |

Winamp uses *.cur for animated cursors. Just rename the file in the Windows Explorer. Rightclick on it and the option will appear in the popup menu.

Still having trouble with animated cursors!
I've done what you said DEckaRD but I am still having trouble with the animated cursors. When I rename the file, this just renames the file name, not the file extension *.ani. How do I rename the file extension so I can get *.ani to *.cur?

You need to go into Windows Explorer, click on View, then click on the Folder Options, then click on the View tab. Remove the check next to where it says "Hide file extensions for known file types". Click Ok.
Now you should be able to change the file extensions

Thank you Jayn. Your solution to my problem worked.
I can now have animated cursors with my Winamp skins. Thanks again.......and yes, I have kissed the llama? ;-) |
