I've made well over 50 winamp skins within the last 3 months, and I'm submited at least 25 of them, and only 3 are published, argh, it's been two months and they havn't been reviewed, I know they have lot of work, but two months, and I see all these other skins being reviewed... argh, and yes, I'm the guy who made the Hector Merced skin aka Hector Merced!

50 skins in 3 months, geeeeeeeze, do you surface for air from time to time?

If it's any consolation I've got one, yeah one a month is about all i can muster lol, sitting there since 25th of October, and that was only an update.

Patience grasshopper all good things come to he who waits.

Apology!!!

Well, sorry for posteing sorry so angrily, but when i submitted my first batch of skins they were all reviewed within days of submission, and due to my being a new guy, they were pretty much crap, but now I've made many new completly skined ones that are easily 3 or 4 stars I hope, but till they are reviewed, you can download my 10 favorites at my site ybull.net!!!

Haha...I know how that goes, Mr. Jones!
That last skin I posted on my page was like...hmmm...well, I believe it was about a month ago.

My new motto is:
"let the people wait"

Haha...which basically means I've found other things to occupy my time with. Haha...

Sig of the moment:

Almost June 15th...

15-30 mins, holy smoke batman, do you have a link to some of these skin, I'm sure I speak for everyone who frequents skin love forums when I say we would love to see a skin that has been made in 15 mins, man what have we been doing wrong all this time, slaving away in psp for hours on end when all it takes is 15 mins.
I gotta see
I gotta see

Chapino,
Ok i downloaded the 4.2 mb file that u had containing your 10 best skins, strang how there was only 8 in the archive, but never mind

Hmmmmm, well, hmmmm, interesting, u say you've made 50 of these in the last few months?, they all similar in design?.

It's an interesting concept you have going there, I particulary like the Lava Lamp Amp, or LLA to give its name, tell me what is the name of this groovy software that you are using?

You want some advice, well here's my view point.
Aheeem, deep breath.......
1) try pack your skins in smaller files, people hate downloading massive archives, even the individual WSZ files are totaly HUUUUGE 599kb for a skin?, without cursors?, some skin sites won't accept stuff over 200kb, reduce the colour pallete a touch, reduce those bitmaps

2)Try to make at least some of the buttons, openers, closers on your skin visable for a start, always good to be able to tell what you are pressing, I know a lot of people on here say they can find there way around a winamp GUI with there eyes closed, me included, but think of the newbies as well.

3) vis window, always rember to change that, the original winamp vis is top class, but if it don't match your "design", well, hmmmmmm

4)Legibility, your numbers left a lot to be desired on most of your skins, always pleasent to see how long u been listening to those mp3's

5) On the skins where the buttons and sliders were visable, these seemed to be warped/distorted versions of the original winamp GUI. Nice as the orig is, try be a bit more creative.

However If I could give u just one peice of advice above all else, then it would be this. Instead of spending 15 mins per skin, producing 50 skins, try spending some time, effot, love on making just one skin that will make people go WOW, instead of WHOOOOOA.

Other than that I have little to say, I'm fairly speechless at this point. I do suggest some of the other guys and gals in here check out this archive of skins, see what they think.

Thanks for all the help, yeah, Iguess there were only 8 in the archive, didn't want to make it to big, trust me, I gave a lot more to winamp to review, lol, and I used PSP7 and Adobe Photoshop to make my skins, yeah they're definetly not five stars, but I think they are easliy at least 3!!! And for those who havn't gone yet, go to my site!

I swear if any of them that we've seen so far raise more than a "star" under any review process then I'm selling my skins into slavery, shaving my head and joining a odd religious cult.

*mumble mumble* 3 stars

MAYBE JEFFERY C WOULD LIKE HIS SITE SKINNED BY CHAPINO

NO NO NO, You must , why should me, Duk and Jayn be the only ones to suffer LOL

Try them I have found them to inspire a sense of open mouthed astonishment coupled with the feeling of creeping forboding, add to that a pinch of retina melting asthetics, and you have a combination of things that simply cannot be overlooked .

With a recomendation like that, how can you refuse

If they're skinned, they're not blank, now are they? (that's along the lines of "the sound of one hand clapping".)

Stop stalling Chiquita. Not only do you have to download them, but the scarey part is actually running them in Winamp (I cheated and looked at the bitmaps seperately, first.)

Heh.

But they did inspire BARE. Now *there's* some work ahead of... something.

Lunatic fringe, we know you're out there.
