I'm making my first skin ever and its gone pretty well so far. I have done everything from scratch by hand (well, except for borrowing some things I liked from other skins...please forgive me...its my first time and I'm young and inexperienced).
Anyway...I'm having some trouble making areas of the main.bmp transparent (i.e. as digitool is done). I understand that I have to modify the regions.txt file in order to make them transparent but I'm not familiar with the format that is used in it. If anyone has some pointers or could direct me to a tutorial or documentation on making transparent areas on my skin I would very much appreciate it. Thanks alot all! Monkey Boy |

There's an excellent tutorial that explains about making transparencies here:
http://members.nbci.com/wsdskins/ski...nsparency.html I also hear that Skin Master has a very good region.txt generator, but I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet. Hope this helps

Thanks alot
Thanks for the help there Jayn.
The tutorial was helpful and I found a little utility that creates a region.txt file for you. I think its called transtrace or something. Thanks alot for the help though, it solved that problem so I could then move on to the next task of trying to get my titlebar to line up with everything. ARRRGH! I'm just going to download amps made by other people and not be creative anymore :-) Thanks again though. Monkey Boy |
