HELP PLZ:files not playing on ipod

I'm getting something very simliar to this. i have 9.66 gigs of msuic i have ripped from cds. Yet after syncing or highlighting all of them and sending them to the ipod ( i haev tried both, many times) the transfer takes about 2 minutes (??? i mean firewire isnt that quick

) and only 450 megs are taken up on the ipod, and only 1 in about 25 files play, the rest are jsut skipped over, yet they appear on the ipod if your getting me. it worked all fine with itunes, and yes they are all mp3s, and a few i ripped with itunes in apple lossless format.
i have also tried re installing winamp totally.

Windows XP
Winamp 5.08

Desperatly would like to use this plug in, as itunes is really quite useless with the filenames, but thats another story
