rm files cant play in Winamp 5.08

i have downloaded the real alternative 1.37 and i have installed, but all my rm files still cant play in winamp 5.08, how to fix this? the rm files can play in window media player only, i can add the rm files to winamp, but it cant be played!!

*i only DOWNLOADED/INSTALLED real alternative 1.37, NO others codec packs.

You've already installed RealAlternative to get the Real Engine/Codecs on your system. So that part's taken care of.

But you DO need a 3rd-party authored plugin now... you need to install the Tara plugin to have Winamp support/play Real Audio/Video formats.

Not related. So, now just install Tara and you'll be good to go.

with real alternative you can just add the file extension to the directshow decoder preferences.(thats what I do)

preferences(ctrl+p) --> input(left menu) --> select(nullsoft directshow decoder) --> hit configure

add ";rm;rmvb" to the extension list(at the end minus the ""'s)

no plug-in needed. works for me.

is this not easier?
