Why? Dunno...both songs are great, The FLips version has funnier lyrics, but the Stripes lyrics are more memorable. The FLips fersion sounds more dynamic, and improves the memorable, but essentially bad drumming (daniel_einstein: Did you ever listen to The White Stripes???). Then there's the siren in the FLips version, which was a natural fit....
