Winamp crashes everytime i want to play some MP3 Files...

Windows ME has some trouble concerning my onboard soundcard, and winamp doesn't detect this. I know it's ME it's fault, or my soundcard, but eitherway, Winamp crashes on it, cause it didn't detect a error while initializing the audio streams etc...

Maybe a good idea to implement this in a new version, so it won't hang the whole computer?

You can choose how many space you want to waste for that. So it doesn't neccesery have to be that big. And if you even want, you can disable it. So what's the problem?

I've uninstalled it a while ago but if I'm not mistaking:
(sorry for bad translation I run a non English Win version.)
  1. Right-click This or My computer
  2. Preferences
  3. Goto the last tab
  4. Select the first button from advanced
  5. Then goto the last tab.
  6. And if I'm not mistaking there an option at the bottem of your screen which you can use to disable the PC restore funtion.

I hope that you can find it this way. If not, just ask. Or maybe somebody with an English system will tell you how to do it.

You can also can go to your controlpanel and select "system". Instead of step 1 and 2.

me

me's fine, OK, so it uses a bit more resources than 98, but only cos it does more stuff. Its been perfectly stable with me, any problems Ive had with it are either due to me setting things up wrongly, or old crap badly written apps that would just as easily waste a 98 install. looking at your problem id say its 90% likely to be due to badly written drivers for your onboard (therefore cheap) soundcard, and nothing nullsoft can do could fix it. try using the direct sound output plugin though - might work OK there
