you shoudl read thru this thread. people who hve have gone an exceptionally long time between pulses tend to have the .bin file get corrupted and lose all their strokes.

there's no harm in saving up keys.. just backup whatpulse.bin daily

but then if it corrupts, how do you use a saved .bin? Will the program recognise it?

If it does, then what's to stop people from cheating? Saving .bins and then reusing them to stack up hundreds of thousands of keys.

I thought so. I used to run WP on my flash disk at college, and whenever I restarted it it told me I had to delete whatpulse.bin and start again.

There's a large forum on the site for cheating reports, so cheating somehow must be possible.

it is probably possible with programs that fake keystrokes.

Possibly. Certainly you could just run Windows in an emulated session (such as Bochs), and have it give emulated keystrokes.

Another system would be to just find the part of WhatPulse that gets called for a keystroke, and just call that with something you've written.

You could also possibly patch whatpulse.exe, though that seems far more work than it's worth...

No, of course I don't cheat. :P

heh, I was thinking that cheating could be done in a much more rudimentary way. Get an electric motor and get it to repeatedly hit shift or something whenever you're not using the PC. Actually, if someone did that they'd be among the saddest people on Earth.

Phff. I could cheat and never get caught. One of the keys is just not cheating too much.

It's interesting to see which the most used keys are:

1. 34,235 Space
2. 21.067 E
3. 15,769 T
4. 14,879 A
5. 14,776 Backspace
6. 14.726 O
7. 13,796 Left Shift
8. 13,436 I

Apparently the letter E is the most used in the English language, so the scientific data I have collected proves this. I also seem to make lots of mistakes.

Actually, whatpulse.bin is where the account data, as well as keystrokes you make are stored until pulsed; trying to tamper with it just results in "corruption", though.

This is a sig of some nature.

And I learned that the hard way, trying to do the backup thing and when it finally did go corrupt I learned it doesn't work to use a backed up one so I pulse every 2 to 20 thousand keys now..

Dlink.. You use F1 a lot are you a gamer?

yeah, i'm back.

I know, but you could patch whatpulse.exe to load a file regaurdless of its "corrupted" status, for example.

I have no idea, but my friend is an utter loon. He has started coming up to me before exams saying how he just pulsed 300,000 keys, and how he has peed off this other guy (who has moved back to his old team).
