Yo,
This isn't 100% related to winamp, but is related to sound under windows in general.
While listening to mp3s, if I cause anything which involves a lot of video activity (changing active window, alt+tab, etc), short screeching/hissing/buzzing noises are outputted together with the music that I am playing.
I know the reason for this - if I check through device manager, the display adapter and sound card are sharing the same IRQ - 5. Despite this, I can't seem to change it in device manager..
Anyone have any possible ideas or cures for this?

Thanks, Chris.

i don't know if this is a good idea or not... but anyway i'll just say it.

maybe you wanna remove your soundcard and adaptor (not physically, just thru control panel) and then restart and have windows detect it and install it back again... that way the irq's may be assigned properly...

If you have a motherboard manual, take a look at it. On my motherboard, certain PCI/AGP slots are shared. So it is possible for me to have my sound card and video card on the same IRQ. The solution is to move your sound card to a different slot which is not shared with your video card slot.
