I have all my MP3's on a USB hard drive (don't buy one) and an exact copy on my hard drive in a folder. Whenever I make my playlist, WinAmp puts in "H:\MP3 Drive\" at the beginning of each entry, so when I copy them to the USB drive (I , they play off drive H and not drive I.I move the drive to other computers a lot and then my list won't play on that computer because it has drive H listed in the filename. It takes forever to create the playlist from the USB drive cause I have about 1,000 songs and I want it to load the times when the list is created, so I want to use the list I made on my regular hard drive. What can I do about this so my list works on whatever drive it's loaded from? Zach |

Assuming you store the playlist on the root of the USB Drive, open the playlist in a text editor and use the editors find and replace feature to replace the drive letter with nothing (Replace "H:" with ""). As long as the playlist stays in the root directory everything should work fine.

I figured that would work but if anybody knows an automatic way to do this that'd be cool. Probably not one in WinAmp but I may be wrong. |
