Pro loading

I loaded Pro, uninstalled the old, and now everything comes up in...like Safe Mode...Went out and re-installed it over three times and it still comes up in large mode. Even tho it works, that is frustrating...seems i was better off with a free version, but now that is too late too without an answer.

Safe mode, as in low resolution and/or color? Got WinXP?...
1. right-click on a shortcut for Winamp 5
2. select Properties
3. select Compatibility tab
4. make sure 'Run in 640x480 screen resolution', 'Run in 256 colors' or other Compatibility settings have not been selected.
Otherwise, please post system specs and maybe one of us can figure out what is going on.

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

I think maybe he means double size might be on...?

Right-click main window > Options > Make sure "Double Size" is unchecked.

Thanks guys...I had to check out to do the work thing This is a 2.6G Pavillion Laptop w/XP I went back and checked your recommendations and that all checks out I surfed thru all that stuff a few times and thats why i cant figure it out since nothing was changed and the free version of Winamp worked fine Was only after I down-loaded Pro that the visual went into a version of watching Safe Mode...no Double Size is checked (that is blue) or nothing. Resolution size at 640x480 and 256 color is all set. Stumpt! I will post the system specs above. Attempted to reload the free version and that still comes up double size like safe mode. I got a glitch i can fix solo and i love winamp. Thanx again I will be around.

1. What do you mean by visual? Are you talking about the visualizations (AVS or MilkDrop) or do you mean the skin(s)?

2. Compatibility settings. Those settings (resolution & color) should not be selected.

I meant that I cannot figure out solo. By the way, Winamp and since Winamp Pro is the only program that responds in this manner. Thanx again

it's due to the screen resolution you're using .. I dropped mine down to 640x480 and wa5 takes up about half my screen using modern skins and a lil bit less then half using classic skins.

These are the actual appearance on the screen when i select Winamp or a music program to play or video Now resolution and color should not be selected? The 640x480 and 256?

The compatibility settings are for older applications that do not work well in high resolution, high color, and/or with some of WinXP's environmental features. For Winamp none of the compatibility options need to be enabled. That is why I suggested to make sure the options were not selected. I am sorry if my previous post wasn't clear enough.
