Every time I try to connect, I get the message "connection error." Now, I am not certain if this has anything to do with IP or port or password.

Nothing I have read seems to clarify this for me.

What I would like to know is the following:
What is the correct IP for me to broadcast on Shoutcast?
Is the 8000 port default appropriate, and if not, how do I find out what other port I can use on my machine?
Is there another technical issue I need to repair (and what would it be?) in order to broadcast?

Please help me out!

Thanks!

port issues

port 8000 is usually not taken and is good to broadcast on. run netstat from the commmand line - it'll tell you which ports are taken. (works on nt and win2k - not sure about other .9x windows versions.) have you tried connecting to more then one site - you might just be hitting a bad link
good luck!

Netstat also works on Windows 98.
