Madlyrics problem

Who here uses Madlyrics? I've searched for a few threads on this and they have no answer but I'll try and elaborate on what people said.

For a few years, madlyrics worked perfectly. Then all of a sudden, it stopped working. I'm thinking its got something to do with firewalls and port forwarding. Its weird because, when it was working properly, I had a firewall and no port forwarding was needed. I even had "no internet connection available" set for my internet settings in Winamp.

As far as I can tell, madlyrics needs port 80 to be open since its dealing with HTTP ? Correct me if I'm wrong. I tried opening port 80 on my d-link firewall setup page but it had no effect. I've turned off the Internet Connection Firewall(ICF) that came with XP. I noticed that changes made in the ICF screen reflected in the setup for the d-link. So I deleted the entries I made in the ICF screen and just left the one for d-link. Still no effect. I even tried emailing the author. He must be using another email or something.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Usually third party plug-ins are not supported in Winamp forums. Hopefully someone who is familiar with the plug-in will be able to offer a tip or two. Otherwise, please contact the developer/author of any third platy plug-ins for support. Check the plug-in's help, ReadMe or other documentation for contact info. If you click on the developer's name in the plug-ins details page you will get a contact form.

BTW If you are interested in a alternative, EvilLyrics (a standalone "plug-in") is highly suggested in the forums.

Good Luck

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

Doh!

After reading your post again, I now see that you already tried contacting the author. The plug-in is over two years old, so chances are the e-mail in any of the documentation is outdated or otherwise no longer valid. Maybe, you will have better luck with the contact form.

You may want to give EvilLyrics a go. I don't use lyrics plug-ins so I can't give you a review. However those who have suggested it, have given it high ratings.

^ Thanks for the tip, I tried using the contact form just now. As for EvilLyrics, I'm not too keen on having to open another program to get the lyrics. Just so much easier with it in the minibrowser. I'll keep messing with it.

I know of a lyrics plugin that you just open in WinAmp the same way you do as the equalizer and stuff. It's at

http://www.leoslyrics.com/winamp.php...04FC54662E3A52

It works for me
