Can I clean up and convert .cda files to .wav files on WinAmp. There's 2-3 seconds at the end of each track that is messed up. Thanks.

No, use a stand-alone ripping program such as CDex: http://www.cdex.n3.net/ ... and then you will need to use a WAV-editing program. I am sure some of the other folks around here can recommend a couple; or you might try searching the forums in the meantime. It might be helpful if you could tell us what you mean by "messed up" ... |

Glitch
The last three seconds sound like a loop. But this is only when played on the computer. In the car, it's fine on the original but messed up on the copy. The tree admin said he sent .wav files but I got .cda from my parent. I wonder how he did that. I downloaded the program you mentioned after I searched for this issue. Thanks!

but cda IS wav
miamimike21,
cda files simply mean it's a cd audio files. in the computer world - that translates into WAV if your on the pc and AIFF if you're on a mac. it's sounds like someone burned you a copy of the cd. most likely, he burned it with two second pauses between songs (the deafult, believe it or not), so the problem isn't in your songs, it's in the way the cd is burned. if you can't get another copy, you can "officaily" convert cda to wav. you can do that with most rippers out ther (i find audio grabber rocks, but it's up to you and your budget)... and then use sound forge (or any audio program) and remove the two second pause (which i doubt will be there) good luck! |
