excellent advise but untill aac+ is intergrated into the comunity a little better everyone HAS to have all the latest winamp (which you can link to)

it also stops sites from having the links for real and windows and i tunes etc as aac is so winamp dependent,
Points taken, and I agree - it will take time for integration. Pity the latest iTunes (v5) didn't include the codec. I suppose this has to do with licences etc. After more products take it up with updates for their media players - it will then take some time for listeners to upgrade etc.

I'm so far very impressed with aac+ Shoutcast streaming. Haven't had any skipping at all. I'm a bit of a geek I'm afraid - messing around with both NSV and Shoutcast in general. Listening to my 32k aac+ stream both off the internet and with a home LAN I haven't experienced any problems at all. All I'm using is WA5.1, the new Shoutcast DSP 1.9.0, the s/c DNAS and Winamp Radio Scheduler v2. I was thinking of going to 48kbps aac+ - but why bother when the stream sounds so good anyway?

To re-emphasise - I just cannot believe the difference in what you get between 32k mp3 (22050kHz AM mono-like) and 32k aac+ (FM stereo-like).
