Installs but won't run.

Hi all,

I was using 5.05 until yesterday when I decided to upgrade to 5.1 full. The install (over) completes fine, with reboot required, but when I try to run winamp upon reboot, it doesn't open, and stays at ~99% CPU in the ps list.

I tried a complete un-install/re-install with the same result.

I was tipped-off to 'the edit' from "1's" to "0's" in Windows\Winamp.ini by one of the stickies here, which did end up allowing Winamp to successfully start.

So, with that in mind and being the curious type, I used System Restore to go back to just before the initial attempted upgrade and repeated the above complete un-install/re-install, with the addition of removing all winamp references in the registry and all folders in "Program Files", AND the Windows\Winamp.ini file. Essentially I was attmepting a complete "fresh" install. This surprisingly culminated with the same "hangin" result.

Any ideas why this is occurring? Does the program when 1st run try to "inventory" any mp3's it finds on the hard drives? as I've got tons and maybe it's hanging on that. (I did wait at least 10 minutes for it to start BTW)
