I have made a skin converted in to .wsz format and placed it on my hardrive. Simple enough that all the information is filled in and correct and in the componet area i have browsed in [ c:\mfkr1.wsz ]

Now what is wrong with that?
Nothin would be the correct answer but all I get is

ERROR Component names may only contain a combination of letters and numbers.

now there are letters in it and numbers, I have tryed many different ways yet still it will not accept it, why?

Please help me as it will be most welcomed.

Thanks, Slicknot.

On the submission form, right at the top where it says name of skin, you are not putting any symbols in there are you? for example, I first encoutered this error while submitting a skin with the following name:-
myskinv1_0.wsz

On the part where it says "skin name" I was puttin in "skinv1_0", it was that part of the form, not the acctual name of the archive that was causing probs, so check what name you are giving your skin on winamp, things like "my skin - new edition","my_skin_v_1" or "my 5* skin" will be rejected allways. Any symbols you use will cause this, even the good old "."

There Are No Symbols. What Now?

Yeah I am happy to send it to you as you are correct being that it is a Slipknot - Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat skin.

But As this is my first good skin I wish to publish I would rather learn how to get them published.

The skin is only

mfkr1.wsz

all together it is C:\mfkr.wsz

It is not coz it is on my computer or something is it?
But before anybody gets any skin off me, I must have this solved first friends.

Thanks, Slicknot.

Yes It Is Done.

Well I matched the the names from the 'name' part ontop of the screen and below in the 'component' area and it worked fine.

Thanks from the help buddy.

One more question? How long on average does a skin take to be published on the actual skin board?

Thanks again, Slicknot.

Ranges from a few days to a few months. Be prepared to wait months.
