winamp and drwtsn32.exe

Hi I am desperate for help!

One day when I started my computer, and then started winamp cuz I wanted to listen to music, it somehow chrashed on me...

This was very wierd sine I had used it the day before and hadnt changed or do anything that would make this problem appear.

The problem is that when I try to start winamp it fails and get the error where it asks if you want to send an email to microsoft, I dont know what it sez in the english version since I have a swedish version of winXP so in swedish it sez something like there has been an error in winamp.exe and the program has to be shut down or what ever.

But the wierd thing is also that after wianmp.exe chrashes I get a message that drwtsn32.exe also has chrashed...

I never knew of this app before this happend I dont really knw what it does but I know it is and old app and it is a debugger or something dr.watson is its real name...

Not always but sometimes also explorer.exe chrases after winamp and dr.watson has chrashed...

I dont know what to do! I want my winamp to work! It is the best and easiest way to listen to my mp3s...

I have done a system restore dont know the exact term in english (systemåterställning in swedish) I have gone back to an earlier date when winamp worked fine, but it didnt work!

I dont know what to do!

I have also tried reinstalling winamp but that didnt work either! What to do? This is a mystery!

PLZ help me!

I searched for drwtsn32 on this site didnt find anything...

can someone plz give me some tips how to fix it or how I can specify and help you all understand my problem!

Please provide additional system specs. What do you have for any third party (non default) Winamp plug-ins (if any)? If possible please provide details of the error message, even though it may in Swedish. I am sorry the following is in English, what we are interested in is the following
To view details of the error click here (click to reveal)...

AppName: Winamp.exe - AppVer: 5.0.1.0 - Modname: ??
ModeVer: ?? Offset ??
You do not need to provide the "Would you like to view the details sent to Microsoft" portion of the error message.

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

I found something called Creative Labs 1024 and Creative SB Live! (WMD)

I dont know if that helps..I did go in to Systeminfo but I couldnt find anything namned just plain soundcard: or motherboard maybe post a example of a motherboard, so I can see what to look for..

I dont know what the thing Im looking for looks like...if it should be nubmbers or anything.

I will post a log of that hijackthis stuff when I know how it works and I will try take screen shots of my problem I will post later.

Here is my Hijackthislog:

And I did scan my sytem with ad-ware and panda platinum before, when I tried doing something to fix my winamp problem.

I forgot in earlier post also to mention I have the latest DirectX 9d or whatever...

The wierd part is that I have never had an issue with winamp before but all of a sudden...

OK thanks. I could not find any "red flags" in the Hijack This log.

It was this error report from Winamp that we are manly interested in. It showed an error with comctl32.dll. This has been reported several times and is usually corrected with a full uninstall > reinstall (clean install) of Winamp. I know you said you already tried reinstalling Winamp, however was that a clean install of Winamp?

Good Luck

Also make sure you install Winamp 5.1 (the latest and supported version). According to that error message you're still using a 5.09 version.

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.

Err, yeah. That also. As siebe said, make sure you have Winamp 5.10 for the clean install.
