Startup problem
Hi all,
I've been using winamp since ver.1 and have always loved it, that's why I'm still dragging along. Recently, last 6 - 12 months, I've always had problems starting winamp. It starts, but just hangs my whole computer for a good 30+ seconds. I continue upgrading versions expecting the problem to go away. Even tried on a fresh install. Currently running Winamp5.1 sorround. Got a P4 300Ghz, 1Gb ram, and heaps of HDD. I usually start my music files by double clicking them, but delay still occurs when starting just winamp. I want to keep using winamp, but can't if this keeps driving me insane. Any ideas or suggestions?? Much thanks rk |

Maybe try a clean install without Sonic Ripping/Burning support (uncheck it in the installer). That component is known to cause problems on some systems.
If that doesn't help, please provide more info. You can also have a look at the threads here. |
