On some skinning sites they require a smaller .wsz file than 200k for submission. I can't seem to figure out how to minimize the package. I have just the essential bitmaps and no cursors. Is there some way to regulate the size. It seems that while I am in the process of skinning small changes in bitmaps have great effect on the overall zip file in an inconsistent way. WHAT the hell is going on here?!?!!?
would greatly appreciate help...thx |

Problem
Ok... Thanks a lot man... You've helped me more than once.
The problem is though that my copy of adobe image ready will not export bitmaps with a bit depth less than 24. I do not have any other program to handle my files from photoshop. What is a good program for saving bitmaps easily with that option. Photoshop 6.0 has the option of saving bmps, but this computer doesn't have that version. So, I am kind of jammed between quality and size here.... any help appreciated... again, thx |

Epic games has a little DOS utility for converting 24-bit images to 8-bit with minimal colour degradation. They claim the palletization is far better than Photoshop's. Here's a link to the utility, it's only 60K.
