CRC failure after download...

I already have read the past posts on scanning for viruses,
bad IE installs, etc etc...

I have no virii on either one of my systems and when downloading to either system i get the same CRC failure.

- All my virus defs. are up-to date. Nortons on PC one ,Inoculate PE on my other PC
- I downloaded and ran 'cleancih.exe' as posted in a previous thread, it found nothing infected on both PC's
- I have heard previously to delete the previous 'winampinstall.exe' then try installing again.
I could not find it to delete it (using find files)
- Basically I have done everything else anyone has posted
here, and still get the same CRC error every time.

The CRC failure happens when downloading winamp271_full.exe.
I have not tried downloading the lite or standard version as
I have not had problems with winamp in the past till now.

I have also tried downloading v2.71 from Winampheaven.com
and the file could not be found to download.

Seems like I am not the only one with this strange problem.

Try downloading from an FTP site:
http://ftpsearch.lycos.com/cgi-bin/s...type=All+files

I'll let you know how I make out. I'll try dl'ing it from
several of those locations listed and see what happens.

YES - it worked! So i have found out that downloading from
HTTP it gets messed up somehow, but FTP works fine.
