Hello,
For those of you who are versed in NSIS and are interested in JRE/download/install related topics I suggest visiting the link mentioned bellow. Instead of downloading a whole JRE "off-line" then installing it. It's better to include the small "Windows JRE online installer" (221KB). This small-size installer could be invoked in silence mode if the installer detects that the system doesn't have a JRE (or a recent version of it). The fact that you can invoke it in silence mode (it has no UI) would greatly improve the end-user experience in that he only notices one application (your app) without carring about JREs. Please chekc the comments to get a wider overview of the diff options. It's a 2 minutess read - http://weblogs.java.net/blog/stanley...nt_unde_1.html |

Hello again.
I forgot to mention that using this approache you only download 7.2 MGB for the JRE instead of 15 MGB. The link explains why. Deployment: Understand JRE download size http://weblogs.java.net/blog/stanley...nt_unde_1.html |
