Last File Played

I just installed WinAmp for the first time. Under Media History in Preferences, I unchecked the Enable Recently Played and Enable Recent Items. To me, this should mean that when I open WinAmp, none of the files I viewed last time I used it should still be around. However, the last file I viewed remains and all I have to do is click play and it shows the file. I don't want this. I want it to erase history of previous files each time I shut WinAmp down. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks.

Some additional info. After clearing cache out, I open WinAmp and the file now won't play, but the title is still there even though the file is no longer on my system or any trace of it. How do I get rid of this file information in WinAmp?

Those options you referenced relate to the Media Library, not the Playlist.

If you want the playlist to start blank each time you reopen Winamp, then clear the playlist before you close Winamp. After clearing the playlist and closing Winamp, you could then also make winamp.m3u (Winamp root dir) read-only.

Thanks! Worked perfectly. So, after this, does the player retain some cache after viewing files?
