spaceplay,,thanks and a reply to your reply
Spaceplay,
so what you are saying is go to the URL that you gave me,,,,which I did do at:http://forums.winamp.com/showthread...4083#post154083 AND the only answer I seem to see that directly relates to my question is the following: Next select the "Output" tab and select an Output (Output 1 by default is good). Hit the "Connection" button if it is not already selected. "Type in the address of your server ("localhost" if the DSP and server are on the same machine." (folowed by the rest, way below this part). Now,,,what that means to me is ...since I do think that the DSP and server are on the same machine(which is my machine or computer?). Therefore the address that I would be typing in is: the IP address of my computer , followed by the port number, default of 8000? OR am I wrong, because in part of another set of set up instructions it did say type in the address and the number it gave was either a general example(it did give 192.168.1.100)= or meaning the same IP address that everyone has on their computer LAN side, especially when using a router and hub.? So if you would answer one more time,,,,do I use the IP address for my computer which I do find via command prompt and typing in "ipconfig" or do I use the IP address that the instructions did give 192.168.1.100? I appreciate your quick and detailed and clear reply. Because when I either use the IP address to my computer or the address given in the instructions (192.168.1.100) the shout cast DSP server just keeps on trying and trying and trying to connect and never does. Which either means to me that I am using the wrong address(as I have just stated above as a possibility) or that the Shout Cast DSP server is sooo busy much of the time, therefore I have to just keep trying over and over again until I eventually do connect?. Which could take many, many hours or even perhaps days! Final answer from you please? Thanks Frankie V -And here is the rest of that paragraph, as I stated above- For "Port" enter the port you have as PortBase in the sc_serv.ini file (8000 by default). Enter the password you selected when editing sc_serv.ini. Finish off by selecting the encoder number that you previously set.Type in the address of your server ("localhost" if the DSP and server are on the same machine). |
