Using video as visual

I am new to this, and would like to know, is there any way to convert a video file to a visual? I have a couple of video clips of my wife and kids dancing, and would like to set them up as visuals for winamp. Is this possible? I don't have much experiance with programing, nor do I have lots of fancy expensive programs for editing. Is there a cheap easy way to do this? I appreciate any help.
