Winamp 5.111

winamp 5.111 Full emusic plus
winamp 5.111 Pro (asks for key during install)
winamp 5.111 Nada Surf bundle emusic plus
winamp 5.111 lite

If you were experiencing crashes with 5.11 (especially with the auto EQ feature on), you'll want to upgrade to 5.111.

What's new:
* Fixed: works with internet explorer 3.0 again (old win95/nt3.51)
* Fixed: Auto-Preset EQ crash (non-mp3 files)
* Fixed: $upper, $caps, $caps2 crash with foreign characters
* Fixed: Station Info crash (with http filtering program)
* Fixed: empty playlist bugs
* Fixed: [in_mp3] proxy ignored when ‘only port 80’ was checked
* Fixed: [in_midi] lyrics not working

Always good to be up-to-date, even with no crashes.

BTW, not a bitch, but... Winamp is reaching 6MB. Even browsers are smaller than that. O_O

i had suggested 5.11.5 with it being released on 5/11/05 but that idea got dismissed (would have been more amusing than the lame 5.1 version reference imho)

From now on they could name new versions based on release date though, just like Ubuntu, at least then we'd all know when to expect Winamp 6.

Still having that trouble with three windows on screen and opening the config drawer.

If I set them up so that the top/bottom of each window is touching the bottom/top of one of the others then opening the config drawer will displace the window that has its top edge touching by the same amount as the drawer opens.
Looks as if Winamp assumes any window that touches the bottom of another is docked to the bottom of the main window.
Get the same effect double clicking the Main window title bar.

is down to 3rd party devs to ensure/fix their plugins to work correctly with different versions of winamp (as i have to do all the time, heh)

I'm pretty sure this release does not implement multi user support any further than than 5.11. Did the guide referenced in the quote from 10/20, below, ever get posted? Not being impatient, but it's not unusual for me to miss something.

issues with work/health mean i'm behind on getting it done since i was looking to get a mini app finished to correspond to things so that essentially you set the directories, hit create and it's all set. i'll push things as fast as i can but i'm working most of the weekend so it's going to be a push (but we'll see)

No, there's nothing different in 5.11 or 5.111 regarding the multi-user profile support. And alas, the guide hasn't been completed or posted yet.

There is a full version sans-emusic, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out what the name is, you just have to edit the link manually to download it.

The emusic contract prevents anyone here from directly linking that version, if you do link that version, the mods are under obligation to remove the link.

Ah, you are a life saver. I just spent two hours figuring out what was wrong with my winamp when it went from one video to another. Friggin auto EQ. Thanks!

Cool fixed this for OS's that no-one uses and WA doesn't even support. Time well spend.

Anyway my point in this thread stands. We don't support a 95/Nt3.51 core (let alone changing shells from win98 to custom win95 ones) so I no need to get things working in old versions.

Not looking to start an argument, but my point was that it WAS working all the way through 5.1, but stopped working as of 5.11. I know the shell swapping stuff is a little off the mainstream path, but my OS is 99.999% Win98SE, just minus all IE stuff and Win98's shell with the active desktop/web integration.

It was fixed because of Enigma's bug report. It only took about 30 seconds. Like DrO said, just had to call two functions instead of one (SHGetSpecialFolderLocation and SHGetPathFromIDList instead of SHGetSpecialFolderPath).

I installed the Emusic bundle, although I do know how to get the normall Full version, because it was requested to support Winamp.

I like the fact that Winamp is available for free and has always been nice and they don't push the commercial version and lots of adverts or anything, and of course it being an excellent media player.

Thanks for working on any problems and giving us choice - I have only experienced one bug this time:

In version 5.11 (October 20th) sometimes when I enqueue a lot of mp3s there will be one for which in the playlist no ID3 info appears! And if I right-click and got to info it doesn't show the ID3 either, but the mp3 will still play.

Other times when I load the mp3s that same mp3 shows fine and also plays as normal.

My winamp crash everytime I start it or I reinstall it, I can only see the main window, and move it around.
Its playing all the songs I load, but nothing happens in the window.
All this began to happen when I opgrade 5.111, so what can be the problem??

Sorry for my english, its not the best.
