I use BlackICE as a firewall, do firewalls restrict access? I am my own server also.

If I remember correctly, BlackICE is not really a firewall.

Black Ice is enough of a firewall to get in your way. You need to be sure that you're not blocking access to the port (8000 usually)
Open Tools-Advanced Firewall Settings and add 8000, IP address all. You can set it turn off in one day. I have discovered that the shoutcast server can't talk to my system unless I do open it up prior to starting my broadcast.
