WinAmp crashes during instalation

error occures just before finishing the instalation.. title of a message box is "winamp.exe - application error" and the message/I'm translating from polish so it may be not exact.../ "Application wasn't initiated correctly (0xc0000005). Press OK to exit." It's strange to me because before reinstalling operating system/Win XP prof SP2/ I was using the same version of WinAmp. My confing: AMD A64, SB Live! - I guess thats all what is needed

From the FAQ

Winamp.exe application failed to initialize properly

Installed ffdshow recently maybe?

If so, then try uninstalling it and then reinstalling the latest version, but with just the default installation options (ie. don't checkmark the extra options in the installer, eg. VirtualDub, DSCaler, AviSynth scripts serving), so that only the ffdshow filters are installed.
