1984 is one of the albums I must buy before I die, and I still havn't done it yet... >_<
I still like Van Halen I and II, though, as neither album has a song that I hate...Their songs sound just as fresh as they did 30 years ago...Everything from Eddie's elaborate guitar skills, Alex's solid drum beats, and Michael laying the low-down on bass...And of course, David Lee Roth is my favorable singer of either era (Excluding that freak on Van Halen III from the entire Van Halen history)...  "Eruption" has got to be the guitar solo of the century...
