winamp crashes ntdll.dll after reopening a file

Hello,

i have installed the latest Winamp Version 5.12 on an Acer TravelMate 292 Notebook with a Realtek AC97 Soundchip (this soundcard has no hardware buffer).

When i open a file winamp plays it, but then after opening another file it crashes the ntdll.dll. So it does with Mp3s, Ogg-Files and MPEG Videos. Playing with MediaPlayer, MusicMatch and RealPlayer resulted in no errors and works pretty fine.

I also tried to deactivate the hardware acceleration and installed the latest drivers, but with no luck. It always crashes directly after opening a file when another has already been loaded. I also tried several options in the DirectSound Input configuration in Winamp's Options but they also resulted in the same error. I tried to switch on primary buffer and stuff like that.

Operating System is Windows XP Home Edition SP2 with latest Updates from Microsoft.

Additional Information:
Tried both with Classic and Modern Skin.
No third party plugings - WA out of the box.
512Meg of RAM.
Intel Pentium M Centrino Processor @1.3Ghz

Do you have an idea what the problem could be?

TIA!

A full full uninstall and reinstall usually clears that one up. Give that a try, and if ot doesn't work post full system specs (including the Hijack This log).
