Winamp as input device

As you all know, there are verious input devices, some virtual, some actual hardware.

An example of a few input choices are Stereo Mix, Mono Mix, Microphone, etc.

What I want to do is find a way to make Winamp an input device. This will enable me to select Winamp as my recording device, just like a microphone. Any program that requires audio input (such as a voice chat program or sound recorder) will be able to record music playing from Winamp.

I prefer this method over Stereo mix because other programs making background noise won't interfere.

Is this possible? If so, how can I achieve these results? Thanks!

The answer is no. As in, no, Winamp cannot be made into it's own input device in the recording control with Windows.

There *has* to be a way to do this. It's all software, and software can be manifested. You and I may not know how to do it, but I'm waiting for someone that does.

Thanks.

The one who coded the software might know how, But since winamp isn't open source the answer given by Drewbar stands.

Going on with this might only give you headaches, and bumping it every day might get boring.

So take some friendly advise and listen to Drewbar ,he knows what he is talking about.

No. Seeing as the only reason I can think of why you'd want this is for streamripping purposes, or for converting drm-protected wma, we couldn't tell you how even if there was a way...
