poor sound- staticky

Hello, I didn't see my perticular problem posted. My Winamp runs fine, no freezing or anything like that, however the sound is terrible. When I fist installed it, it was fine. But now its very staticky/fuzzy when I play music, if I use another player, it sounds fine. I have tried re-installing, but it has not made a difference.

Any suggestions?

Maybe try the DirectSound output tweaks.

If that doesn't help, try a clean install of the latest version (5.12).

Still no luck?
Please provide more info.
