Okay, for about a week now I've been streaming a radio on Live365.com. I decided to use Winamp for the audio player, but it seems whenever I stream something, even with CABLE, it begins to skip constantly on my end. I've heard it runs fine on the listener's part, but I want to hear my music as well. I've got a P3 650 128 MB of RAM, and my prebuffer is set at 256k at about 75 percent, so that doesn't seem to be a problem. For awhile I actually thought it was skipping because my connection was so FAST, it was streaming faster than it was reading. But then I thought that was ludicrous. What is going on?! Is there any way to disable the stream I receive so Winamp will concentrate on my outgoing stream rather than both?

Huh? What is your exact question? Do you want to turn off the noise on your winamp player that is streaming? If you want to do that, just use the null output.

what armafenix means is..

go to options, preferences, output and choose the nullsoft NULL output plugin. this should make all of your music stream out.
btw, if you ever want to remotly control your server - the null plugin will have to be chosen
good luck!

You guys missed the point. He's trying to listen to his own stream but it keeps skipping on his player. My questions to you Armafenix is, are you trying to connect to you stream from a differnt PC on the same intranet? Are you trying to monitor your stream on the same machine? If you monitoring from the same machine you shouldn't be streaming it, just select the directsound output plugin and listen that way. Also, what type of connection are you using? (If it's skipping you may have gone over your listener limit for your connection speed. How many listeners are connected when you try to monitor your stream?)

That's pretty correct, I'm usually at home, so I like to listen to my music ***on the system that streams the music as well*** while others hear it too. I'm on a cable connection, so my user limit may be a little high, but I honestly don't get that many users at all. I just put it up for a few friends to listen to it if they want, or for anyone who just picks my stream to listen to. I'll try using the directsound plugin though.
