IPOD mini & tunes with Windows 98-se

I got a Ipod mini for christmas, but I have Windows 98-SE on my PC which is unsupported by Apple at this time, So their Itunes CD will not even try to load. I understand that the Winamp plug-in will work for me but when I download or open it, I don't get the option to install it(the install icon is grayed out). It seems like it can't get a path to the "ML_ipod.exe". But I can search windows and find it ok but it still just won't seem to open? I am not familiar with plug-ins and I wonder it a program like Itunes must already be installed for it to work.

You need to point to the Winamp directory, AFAIK. I don't have a iPod, so I am not absolutely sure.

You should check the iPod Discussion forum for more in-depth coverage.

The solution was to install the Main Winamp program. The Plug-in then installed and worked fine.
