Skin is not showing up!!

I tried re installing it and all that and plus searching all the forums "including the .wsz Extention" Tried that but my skin does not show up. niether does my forum search thing can come up with. so this is my last resort.
Mini Specs:
IntelCentrino
Windows XP 256mb SP2 IE6 SP2
VAIO Laptop

Did you install Modern Skin Support available in the Full/Bundle/Pro setups only? What skins are you attempting to use? Can you post links/names here?

Its been Fixed now. it was a virus that stopped most of my programs from showing on screen excluding ie explorer and some open source programs. and one of my anti virus kept saying that some dll's from winamp are infected.
