Playlist and Media Library loading slow

i have tried searching the forums for this porblem and "http://www.winampunlimited.com/like_the_wind/" hasnt helped me.. when i try to open winamp the player opens but my playlist and media library dont load right away.. it takes about 30 seconds then they pop up.. and it seems like all of winamp is locked up between the time that the player opens and when the playlist and media library open.. anyone have n e suggestions? maybe an older version possibly?.. my specs are.. amd 3000+ 1gb of ram thats prolly all u really need

That shouldn't be happening. I have a 2000+ and a quarter of the ram you have & winamp opens in less than a second. Have you installed any additional plugins?

p.s. Playlist & media library loading were sped up in 5.12. Make sure you're using that version.

nope iv got no additional plugins installed just the just the regular winamp (modern skin)... and i am using 5.12.. i think i might know what it could be so im gunna try that and c if it works

nope didnt work the problem is still presisting... its weird i had winamp 5.12 for a long time and then i had to format my computer (virus

) and then once i had my machine up and running i downloaded winamp 5.12 again and this is where the problem started.. i couldnt figure it out so i just uninstalled it and tried to make do with itunes but its just not the same.. now i miss my winamp

so i want to try to figure this out

i have a relatively simmilar problem with the winamp starting up then it seems to freeze while loading the media lib and the playlist. the sad thing is that i wont get any further..

this is really annoying since i really dont wanna go trough the whole mess of getting used to some other crappy program to listhen to my music (winamp is just THE best).
anyone know what the devil is happening ?
the problem seems to be only in the winamp 5 since winamp 2 and 3 works perfectly it seems..
ohh yea i have tried the clean restall and a bunch of other things and i dont have any other plugins than the ones winamp is downloaded with

yeah sounds like the same as mine.. i read somewheres that it could be winamp trying to update all the online media in media library but i disabled the option where it updates at startup and it didnt do n e thing.. u could try that maybe thats ur problem.. r u behind a firewall because i guess that could cause it

I just have a few questions first off are you sure you have all the proper drivers installed for your hardware? Second what do you have in your music library that it's trying to load and where are the file(s) located?

yeah iv got all the proper drivers as i can still play my music once iv got it open.. i have about 500 songs (all legally downloaded of course

) which r all located in my my music folder which is in my documents
