check that a CD will play through Winamp, and try playing the mp3 with another player. Assuming that the file is okay, go to OPTIONS -> PREFERENCES -> PLUGINS -> OUTPUT and check that the Nullsoft Waveout plugin is selected. Try playing an mp3 and if it still doesn't work go back to the plugins and select the DirectSound plugin. If it still doesn't work after this, try reinstalling Winamp.

hi,

>check that a CD will play through Winamp
playing a CD works

>and try playing the mp3 with another player
doesn't work

>Assuming that the file is okay
files ARE okay

>go to OPTIONS -> PREFERENCES -> PLUGINS -> OUTPUT and check that the Nullsoft Waveout plugin is selected. Try playing an mp3 and if it still doesn't work go back to the plugins and select the DirectSound plugin. If it still doesn't work after this, try reinstalling Winamp.
I tried all these solutions, it doesn't work

if I move the seek bar, I can hear a little peace of the song (half a second ?), then it stops
and if I move the seek bar again, I can hear an other little peace of the song, very strange

any ideas ? thanks for your answer anyway

hi,

my problem is solved

it seemed my awe64 needed two DMA values
one was 1, the other was 5
I changed from 5 to 6 (no need to reboot) and all is fine now

I hope it will help someone...

thanks
