Server Text Editor "Save"
I may have the Winamp plug in configured correctly. My problem now is the ShoutCast server. I am not sure what came in the downloading is what I should have.
The Shoutcast Instructions say to configure the server to click on Edit Config in the Menu bar and a Text Editor will appear with the configuration file for ShoutCast server. One makes some changes, according to the instructions, puts in a password and sets the bit rate, and the instructions then say "Save changes. Kill Server." There are three parts of the Server of about 267 KB which I can bring up. One is a black log, another is a Read Me file and then there is some sort of Text Editor, maybe, which is in Notepad. The Text Editor will allow changes, for example I put in a password and set the number of listeners and bitrate. But - when I go into the tweaked up Winamp and call up DSP/Effect and go to the Main page, it keeps flipping back and forth between connected and disconnected, and when I click on Output 2, or 3 or 4 it says Invalid Password. I suspect that there is a problem with SAVE on the ShoutCast server configuration Text Editor. I used the "File" up at the right left to SAVE and that may not work. Also, I still do not know what URL a listener might have to type in to access my stream. I read some of the Forums on ShoutCast and many have problems with it - and the language of the ShoutCast people. |
