Winamp bug with Windows 2000

Hi I am running my computer on Windows 2000 but my winamp doesn't seem to like Win 2k very much, so much so that when i select a amount of files to "Enqueue" in Winamp it decides to open ALL OF THEM in separate windows instead of queuing them!!!! It will then load so much it will then lock the computer up!!

If there is a bug fix for this could you point it to me or if there is no bug fix could you please fix this for next release please as it is DAMN IRRITATING!!!

Thanks

Hmm, we can't reproduce the problem.
Was this a clean install of Winamp 5.12 with NO 3rd-party plugins?

Could you please confirm that this setting is NOT checkmarked:

Winamp > Prefs > General Preferences:
Allow multiple instances

Also please confirm that "Enqueue in Winamp" has the following command line:

Windows Control Panel > Folder Options > File Types tab:
MP3 > Advanced > Enqueue in Winamp > Edit:

"C:\Program Files\Winamp\winamp.exe" /ADD "%1"

No this was with a install over the previous version of Winamp.

Also checked the settings and "multiple instances" is NOT ticked.

Also the command line is correct for the enqueue of mp3s in the folder options.

I will try to do a Clean Install of Winamp and try again.

BTW no 3rd party pluggins!

Thanks

Paul

I have similar problem.

Have had it for "years" so to say.
if i recall correctly, i have had several clean installs of windows and winamp (several versions), and even still this problems occurs time to time.

My solution has been to add songs/folders via "add folder/song" button in playlist box.

I use win2k pro edition.

best regards

Hi, back again.

I have just completed a system re-install as i had errors and bugs on my old installation of Win 2k SP 4.

This is a fresh installation as in the fact that it is on a brand new Maxtor 160Gb HDD, so this is the first thing that has ever been installed on it.

Now i followed your instructions about the clean install with No 3rd Party pluggins and installed the newest edition of Winamp, yet the problem still occurs.

In fact it just occured about 5 mins ago which is what P***ed me off in the first place to come on here and report it.

My PC Spec if you need it is as follows

M/B: MSI MS6380 - K7T266 Pro
CPU:AMD Athlon 1.4Ghz
RAM:512Mb
HDD's : 160Gb maxtor, 200Gb Maxtor both 8Mb cache, 7,200Rpm
Graphics:MSI Starforce 128Mb GeForce 4 Ti4200
Op Sys: Win 2k with SP4 installed (and up to date)
Direct X Ver 9c
Install type: Full without bundle
Files being queued in:
Mp3's

It occurs only when you do the "Enqueue files" for the 1st time however, this sometimes isn't always the case.

Another interesting thing is that it seems to stop the problem when the winamp window is on the front of everything else and is NOT minimised when you say "enqueue".

If it does it again i will try to capture a screen shot thats if the memory hasn't been zapped from the RAM and Virtual by then!!!

Please please help me as i have been a great fan of winamp for many many years since win 95 was in use!!!

I really do not wanna use any other mp3 or multimedia player!!!

Thanks
Paul
